on the importance of family values, its immersion into the foundation of all human society and women as its structural influence. The structure of the family is the structure of all society, he stated while pointing out that every thing starts and ends in a family even the government. Stressing on the basic link of family, women and the issues confronting them, he said women need to fight for their own rights so that their cause can be achieved. The chief guest while congratulating the Watsu Telongejm on the attainment of 25 years since its inception said this celebration is another success story for the organization. Earlier, the chief guest released the Silver Jubilee souvenir book. Speaking on the theme ‘Forward Together,’ Dr L Atola, Principal Government College Dimapur elaborated her topic with instances from historical events leading to the present and balancing them to the women scenario in Nagaland. She felt that the Naga women are yet to reach a milestone in terms of achievements with series of impediments obstructing their path towards emancipation. Citing examples, she said though every state in the North East had or has at least one sitting MLA in the political structure, Nagaland has yet to give birth to a woman political leader. She further went on to state that the inferiority on women education was another impediment in the growth of women empowerment which she quoted was because empowerment has a ‘direct line with education.’ The population of male and female ratio in Nagaland reads 9, 50,000 female and around 10, 50,000 male from the statistics of twenty lakhs population with the female ratio nearly in consensus with the male. “This shows that women are rising in strength and this strength must be used wisely,’ she stated while also reminding the gathering that Nagas at this juncture have big responsibility which can only be realized with women taking the front stage. The other highlights of the programme include choreography, special songs and cultural items and short speeches of appreciation from Subongla, President Watsu Mungdang, Mokokchung, Tenjem, President, Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur and news on Jubilee from Nungsang Aier, Convener, Jubilee Planning Committee. It said this was far from the truth and that the KYKL treats Meitei Pangals, Meitei Chistians, Meitei Buddists, Meitei Hindus, Meitei Athiests as belonging to one Meitei community, and this is very much enshrined in its constitution. For quite some time, the NSCN (IM) and Unification Group have been trading charges each other for the prevailing insecure environment particularly in and around Dimapur area. One should not forget that both NSCN (IM) and NSCN (K) are currently in truce with the Government of India. In the past too, there have been allegations of violation of Cease Fire Ground Rules (CFGRs) by cadres of both NSCN (IM) and the NSCN (K), while the leaders of both the factions also cast aspersions to the Indian Security Forces for having violated CFGRs. Both factions also accused the Indian Security Forces of working hand in glove with either side. On many occasions, the grey areas in the CFGRs have been highlighted. Even the chairman of the ministerial team of the government of India for political
