IMPHAL, Feb 17: The state cabinet in an emergency sitting today in the wake of the potentially explosive public mood after the kidnap and murder of three state government employees, namely SDO Kasom Khullen, Dr. Th. Kishan, his driver, Rajen Sharma and a Mondal, Y Token Singh, decided to pay ex-gratia compensations to the next of kin of the slain men.A brief press note by the principal secretary to the chief minister, AN Jha, also said the investigation into the case would be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI, the meeting decided.A government job each would also be given to the next of kin of the deceased officials, it said.It may be recalled the three men were abducted from Ukhrul district headquarters on February 13 by unidentified armed miscreants and found murdered near Taphou Kuki village in the Senapati district this morning.While Dr. Kishan’s kin would get an ex-gratia of Rs. 10 lakhs, those of his two subordinate staff would get Rs. 5 lakh each.Dr. Kishan, a bright young administrator had joined the Manipur Civil Service less than a year ago after clearing the last recruitment examination. When he joined the service, he was already a lecturer of English in DM College or Arts. At the time of joining, he also had the appointment letter of the Manipur University lecturership in the English department.Earlier, after completing his doctoral studies from the Delhi University on the polemics of post colonialism with African literature as base, he had served as a lecturer of English in Shyamlal College, Delhi University, on ad hoc basis.Before he joined the MCS, Dr. Kishan was also involved in a literary activism project of bringing out a highly readable quarterly journal called “Alternative Perspectives”. IMPHAL, May 30: The KYKL and the UNLF, in a joint communique to the press condemned the bomb explosion at the RIMS within the office complex of the institute`s director, Dr. Fimate, calling it an act of terrorism calculated to tarnish the image of the revolutionary movement in the state.The joint statement said, intimidating the sick and ailing is an unforgivable act of inhumanity, adding that under humanitarian norms hospitals are spared even during the most bitter wars.The two underground organisations said the pattern of these assaults by the KCP(MC) should have made it clear to everybody by now that the KCP(MC) is the masked proxy of the Indian forces with an agenda to alienate the revolutionary campaign waged by revolutionary organisations from the people.It however said this campaign by the "Indian Occupational Forces" would boomerang on it sooner than later.Explaining further, the two outlawed groups said the KCP(MC) is now holed up within the IG (AR) South headquarte...
